George Bell
The Guinness Book of World Records has officially recognized George Bell as the tallest man in America at 7’8”. George realized he was especially tall for his age as a teenager growing up in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was 7’6” before his high school graduation.
At 7’8”, George is two inches taller than the NBA’s current tallest player, Yao Ming of the Houston Rockets. He is 9 ½ inches shorter than the world’s tallest living man: Ukraine’s 8’5.5” Leonid Stadnyk. George wears a size 19 shoe, has a 45 inch sleeve and 43 inch inseams. George played basketball in high school, college and professionally with the Harlem Wizards and the Harlem Globetrotters. Now, he works as a deputy at the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office. He is currently assigned to the Community Affairs division, where he especially enjoys working with young people.
